The Association of Hospitality and Tourism Educators and Consultants–Africa (AHTEC-Africa) is a continental professional body comprising educators, researchers, trainers, and consultants in the hospitality and tourism sectors across Africa.
We recognize the urgent need to strengthen academic excellence, industry relevance, research innovation, and professional collaboration within our fields. Guided by the aspirations of the African Union’s Agenda 2063—towards a united, prosperous, and integrated Africa—we are committed to advancing hospitality and tourism education and consultancy as strategic drivers of sustainable development.
Through collective expertise, shared knowledge, and strategic partnerships, AHTEC-Africa serves as a platform for capacity building, policy engagement, research development, and continental cooperation.

Build a Strong Professional Network
Connect educators, researchers, consultants, and industry stakeholders for collaboration and mentorship.Develop regional and international linkages with similar organizations.
Serve as a Policy and Advisory Body
Provide expert advice to government and private sector stakeholders on hospitality and tourism development. Advocate for education and training policies that support workforce development.
Promote Excellence in Hospitality and Tourism Education
Foster the development of high-quality, industry-relevant academic programs. Encourage innovation in teaching methods, curriculum design, and learning technologies.
Facilitate Continuous Professional Development
Provide opportunities for ongoing training, certification, and skills enhancement for educators and consultants. Organize workshops, seminars, and conferences on emerging trends and best practices.
